Sleeping on a wooden platform

Scott Walker February 20, 2014

How did you lose your right eye? "I had a really bad stroke, it was very unusual." Did it hurt, I asked. "It was extremely painful."

I found this man to be living outside in the elements with no tent. He was living under portico that was once the entrance of a now closed Hispanic club. The building is vacant, but he has a wooden platform of sorts that his sleeping bag is sitting under. The platform is totally in the elements with no sides. He is 15-feet from an extremely busy four lane divided highway. He tells me he has been here for about a month.
