Living on the Street is Lonely

Scott Walker January 15, 2014

Being alone can be tough. Living in a heavily wooded area behind a local retail store in a tent is even tougher. This man told me that his wife left him shortly after his rental home flooded and he lost all of his possessions. He stated, "I didn't have any insurance because I didn't have anything worth insuring." Each day this homeless man sits at the same busy intersection asking for money. I stood by and watched only one person give him a single one dollar bill in an hour window. Of course the solution to the homeless is not to give them money, but in most cases - find them help for what may be a mental illness.
