1969 GTO Burnout

Scott Walker January 14, 2014

This is a 1969 GTO with a 455 big block. This was one of the original "Muscle Cars." For those who are familiar with the GTO, you will recall that in 1968, they came out with the first rubber bumper of its kind. Today, if you are lucky enough to spot a GTO, you may notice the paint on the bumper is cracked. The rubber did not hold up to paint as expected. GTO stands for Gran Turismo Omologato, it is Italian for Grand Accredited Touring.

The very last of the Pontiac's were built in 2010.

I really enjoyed taking this picture and several others like it. I want you to notice the driver, he is as cool as a cucumber. My focus in this shot was the road behind the back tire in an effort to catch the white smoke pouring off the tires. I used a Cannon 70D with a Tamron 24-70 lens.
