Protest / Rally Regarding Sex Change Operations for Minors in Tennessee

Scott Walker March 4, 2023

In January of this year, a protest at a “Gender Mutilation Rally” was held in Murfreesboro, TN. Prior to this taking place, some people never realized that multiple children in Tennessee underwent surgery in Nashville to change their sex from boy to girl or girl to boy. The rally surrounded a proposed law in the Volunteer State to make it illegal for a juvenile to undergo a sex change operation or to begin hormone therapy to begin the process of changing their sex.

Protestors against the proposed law for children to be allowed to make the decision to change their biological sex suggested it would take away their rights. The ACLU argues hormone therapy or sex change procedures are the only solution to saving some children from suicide – if the child identifies as the opposite sex they were born as and is having identity problems.

In Tennessee, you have to be 18 to get your ears pierced, get a tattoo or go to a tanning bed… but protestors believe a teenager, or a child has a brain that is developed to the point of being able to decide to forever change their biological sex.

According to the National Institute of Mental Health, an adolescent brain is not fully developed until the mid to late twenties.

“May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears.”
— Nelson Mandela

Others at the rally highlighted another proposed law in Tennessee that would not allow for a child or teen to attend a show or event where sex acts are performed before the audience.

Closing Time... Due to COVID-19

Scott Walker March 21, 2020

Some of the Music City bars were completely empty while others had a band playing for only a handful of customers.

Of the bars that were closed, signs adorned the windows and doors highlighting COVID-19. The message was simple, yet over-explained by some establishments. The wording was similar from sign to sign stating that they were closed at the request of Nashville Mayor John Cooper who had ordered the shutdown after receiving word from the Metro Health Department that closing was the best option to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

In the photo on the top right a sign read, “UPS - PLEASE TEXT BETSY FOR PICKUP, THANKS.”

Elvis Played Here

Scott Walker February 21, 2017

Inside the Nashville RCA Studio B you will find this old piano that has many stories written within its strings. One of those stories being Elvis Presley sitting behind the keys playing his favorite gospel songs surrounded by friends singing before actually recording a song or two.

The studio was built in 1957 by Dan Maddox and used by many greats throughout the years up until 1977, the year that Elvis died. However, the closing had nothing to do with the King. The studio was already scheduled to close, ironically nearly a full year before Presley’s death.

Today, the studio still stands and looks almost identical to the way it looked when the greats like Chet Atkins, the Everly Brothers and of course Elvis used it in the 60’s. In fact, most if not all of the equipment still remains within its small acoustically perfect walls.

Revolutionary War Times

Scott Walker January 14, 2017

Some of those on the street suffer from Alzheimer’s, others from a long list of mental illnesses. Often, it is hard to tell what someone suffers from with only a brief encounter.

As he stood in the rain he said that he was in the Revolutionary War and quietly spoke of war times. He then talked about being a slave and being allowed freedom because of good behavior.

He lives on the streets of Nashville, TN and is 67 years old.
