Scott Walker January 16, 2014

You would be surprised that overwhelmingly, strangers like to have their picture made. 9 times out of 10, they don't even ask what you are going to do with their picture.

Life and Missing Those Lost in Service

Scott Walker January 16, 2014

I love it when I capture people who are not expecting a picture along with people who see me snapping away. It is almost like you are invisible to some and others have a special gift of seeing you.

Scott Walker January 16, 2014

Capturing an expression is so important when you take a picture. A blank stare at the camera is usually not very interesting.

Look at the Faces

Scott Walker January 15, 2014

When I go back and look through my pictures, I like to study faces. I am always curious to know who the person is behind the eyes. I wonder what makes "this" person tick. In most cases, I will never know.

The Mask Over the Man

Scott Walker January 15, 2014

I grabbed one shot in black and white and took a second that I decided to keep in color. You can see that under his mask, his face is painted camouflage.

What is Happening

Scott Walker January 15, 2014

Is he mad or what? Hmm, I will let you decide. Pictures only tell a portion of the story sometimes. Other photos tell the entire story. What are you seeing?

Take Pictures with Anything...

Scott Walker January 14, 2014

I have heard so many people say, "I don't have a professional camera, I could never take that shot." I also hear professional photographers talk down not so professional photographers who somehow get excellent shots.

Just for grins and giggles, I shot this with a "Droid Razor Maxx HD" Cell Phone inside a U.S. Marine Barrack on Paris Island in South Carolina. While the picture is not crystal clear and I was unable to control my aperture, ISO and shutter speed, I made do with what I had. The picture is about the angle, your creativity and what is happening within the shot.

The reason for this post is to simply encourage others to shoot with what you have and share it with friends. Photography is a great escape.

One of my favorites stated, "“There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs.” -Ansel Adams
